Proposed gameplay 2.0

Warning: ALL of the numbers are right now, just examples. It is most likely that only some of the changes will be made. It is possible that NONE will be made, but also, ALL could be done. It is up to the community to vote.

1) Generation -> Ages

1.1) The 8 generations will now form 3 ages (1, 2), (3, 4, 5), and (6, 7, 8). Matchmaking will now be based on the ages, not gens.

1.2) The vehicles inside ages will be rebalanced to be much closer: gen 6 and 8 will be very close in speed. Still, gen 8 will be a bit faster. -> Some of the generations will be slower -> the records will get unbeatable -> all times will have to be deleted.

Black: Old performance. Red: new performance. The performance inside one “age” will be much closer if proposal 1.2 is implemented.

1.3) Alternative: 4 ages: (1), (2, 3), (4, 5), (6, 7, 8).

2) Bringing field together + more action

2.1) Penalties will be reworked: Instead of receiving a time penalty post-race, your vehicle will slow down for some time/you will lose power. This way, the order will be sorted DURING the race and NOT after the race. (NOTE: This step is necessary for 2.2 to work)

2.2) To bring the competition together, players behind will get progressively better stats. Simple example: You are with your gen V vehicle 5 s behind the leader -> you get +1 in every stat, and suddenly, you drive like a gen VI. If you are 10 s behind, you get +2 in every stat and go like gen VII. If you close the gap back to 0 s, you will drive as in gen V again.

Example of 2.2: The number next to the motorbike is it’s TOP SPEED

2.3) Introduce slipstream to improve overtaking (without dirty air effects).

2.4) Currently, acceleration is too OP; brakes almost do not matter. I propose to reduce the effects of acceleration and make the effects of improving braking better. (Make all four properties more balanced) -> All records will have to be deleted.

3) Lap timing

3.1) Features 2.2 and 2.3 mean that you can do faster times in multiplayer race than in single-player. For that reason, the times for the leaderboards will be valid only in qualifying and practice.

3.2) New checkpoint system. The checkpoint system will have more checkpoints in order to be more precise -> the OLD data will be incompatible with the NEW system -> ALL lap times will have to be deletd.

3.3) Implementing any single one of the features 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.4, 3.2 means deleting ALL lap times.

4) Champion of the day

4.1) Champion of the day will stay “hardcore” with no advantages to any player.
